Western Macedonia signs snow removal contracts for national road network

The Region of Western Macedonia has signed contracts for snow removal services on the national road network under its jurisdiction. The total budget for these services is 1,775,965.20 euros, intended to prepare for the 2026-2027 winter season.

Regional Governor Giorgos Amanatidis signed the agreements in the presence of Deputy Governor Lazaros Gerechtes and technical officials. The project covers seven sections of the national road network across the areas of Kozani, Ptolemaida, Florina – Andartiko, Koromilia, Pentalofou – Tsotylio, Servia, and Grevena.

The contracts have a duration of six months and aim to ensure road safety and uninterrupted traffic during snowfall, frost, and other adverse weather conditions. The initiative focuses on maintaining high operational readiness through the availability of necessary machinery, equipment, and personnel to protect critical road axes.
