Western Michigan wins Omaha Tournament volleyball title
Western Michigan volleyball won the Omaha Tournament title after defeating Louisiana Tech in four sets (25-21, 21-25, 25-19, 25-15) at Baxter Arena. The victory brings the Broncos to a 6-0 record, their best start since the 2023 season.
Western Michigan’s performance was supported by Leah Richmond, who recorded 56 assists, and Annalise Patchett, who led the team with 17 kills. Gabby Weihe also contributed 15 kills, while Cassidy Pratley achieved a career-high 10 kills and seven blocks. Elana Erickson led the team in digs with 17.
Louisiana Tech took the opening set after a tightly contested battle, but Western Michigan responded with strong runs in the subsequent sets to secure the match. For the Bulldogs, Taylor Woods recorded a season-high 12 kills, and Riley Steubing led with 28 digs.
