Western New York weather: Rain through Sunday with severe weather risk Tuesday

Western New York is facing varying weather conditions as remnants of Isaias bring rain showers through Sunday evening. The Finger Lakes and eastern Southern Tier are expected to see the highest rainfall, with accumulations estimated between 0.25 and 0.75 inches. In the Rochester area, lighter rain is expected with most accumulations staying under 0.10 inch.

While Monday is forecasted to bring mostly fair weather with highs near 70 degrees, conditions are expected to shift by Monday night. An increase in warmth and moisture may lead to muggy conditions and scattered thunderstorms on Tuesday. The Storm Prediction Center has placed western New York in a 1/5 risk area for severe weather on Tuesday, though tracking data remains split regarding the storm's exact path.
