Western North Regional Minister inspects Bia West projects

Western North Regional Minister Wilbert Petty Brentum has inspected several ongoing development projects in the Bia West District to monitor progress and ensure timely completion. The inspection, conducted alongside the Regional Coordinating Council, focused on approximately 16 projects managed by the Bia West District Assembly under the leadership of District Chief Executive Matthew Annor.

Many of these initiatives are funded by the District Assemblies Common Fund and include the construction of mechanised boreholes, various classroom blocks, a modern kindergarten, Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compounds, and a nurses’ bungalow. A significant project highlighted was the 24-hour economy market at Oseikojokrom, intended to bolster local commercial activity.

In addition to assembly-led works, the district is seeing central government investments, such as a girls’ dormitory for the Bia Lamplighter College of Education and road construction under the Big Push programme. Minister Brentum expressed satisfaction with the development progress, noting that regular monitoring is essential to ensure projects serve their intended communities effectively.
