Western Sicily hosts rowing tour and international tourism promotion

Western Sicily is hosting several initiatives to promote its coastal, cultural, and natural heritage. The West Sicily Rowing Tour 2026, organized by the Trapani and Marsala sections of the Italian Naval League, saw rowing enthusiasts complete a 25-kilometer course from Trapani to Marsala. The route passed through the salt pans of Trapani, Paceco, and Misiliscemi, offering views of historical watchtowers and the archaeological site of Motya in the Stagnone lagoon.

Simultaneously, the Buy West of Sicily 2026 educational tour is underway, led by the Western Sicily Tourist District. This program brings international buyers from European and American markets to explore the region. The tour covers locations including Erice, Segesta, and San Vito Lo Capo, focusing on local hospitality, gastronomy, and traditions. The initiative aims to move beyond traditional short-stay tourism by connecting international professionals directly with local businesses and communities to create new travel packages.
