Western Star reports tungsten assays at Eagle Point project
Western Star Resources Inc. has reported its first modern assay results from the Eagle Point Tungsten Project located in Hidalgo County, New Mexico. The property, which last saw production during the Second World War, showed significant mineralization during a 2026 surface sampling program.
Key findings include a continuous channel sample averaging 0.11% WO3 over 13.1 feet and grab samples reaching up to 0.55% WO3 from scheelite-bearing skarn. Mapping has traced this skarn along approximately 2,600 feet of the limestone-granite contact. Of the 23 rock samples collected, 14 exceeded 0.10% WO3.
Based on these results, the company plans a 17-hole drill program totaling approximately 6,070 feet to test the contact beneath surface exposures. CEO Blake Morgan noted that the results provide clear targets and emphasized that domestic tungsten supply is a national security priority for the United States.
