Slovakia reports energy scams, robbery, and murder plot
Several criminal incidents have been reported in Slovakia. Energy companies Západoslovenská energetika (ZSE) and Východoslovenská energetika have warned customers about fraudulent SMS messages. These messages impersonate the companies, claiming unpaid electricity debts and threatening service disconnection to trick users into clicking malicious links and providing credit card details.
In Bratislava, police have apprehended a 17-year-old male involved in a robbery that occurred in late August. The suspect allegedly used a tear gas spray to disorient a victim before stealing a bag containing cash, a mobile phone, and personal documents. Additionally, two 15-year-old students in Bratislava have been placed in custody following charges of preparing a premeditated murder targeting a classmate.
