Western United's participation agreement terminated by APL

The Australian Professional Leagues (APL) has officially terminated the Club Participation Agreement for Western United. This decision follows a period of conditional hibernation for both the club's men’s and women’s teams during the 2025/26 seasons.

APL Chair Stephen Conroy stated that the termination resulted from the club breaching several obligations, including failure to comply with the Football Australia National Club Licensing Regulations. The APL noted that the decision was reached after extensive consultation regarding the club's financial, governance, and legal matters as they attempted to rebuild.
