Western Visayas police intensify hunt for 10,000 wanted persons
Police in Western Visayas are intensifying efforts to locate more than 10,000 wanted individuals within the region. According to Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) director Brig. Gen. Randulf Tuaño, the list of fugitives includes 294 classified as most wanted and 9,847 others, with some facing serious charges such as murder, homicide, and rape.
Last month, police arrested 328 wanted persons across the region, including Negros Occidental and Bacolod City. This figure represents 29.56 percent of the regional monthly operational target of 1,110 cases. Tuaño noted that the region currently holds the top national performance ranking for these operations.
To improve capture rates, authorities plan to strengthen tracker teams and maintain close coordination with local government units. Tuaño emphasized that every arrest serves as a solution to a pending legal case and provides justice to victims.
