WestJet authorized to operate regular flights between Brazil and Canada
Brazil's National Civil Aviation Agency (Anac) has authorized the Canadian airline WestJet to operate regular international passenger and cargo flights to and from Brazil.
The airline plans to launch a non-stop route connecting Calgary, Alberta, with São Paulo's Guarulhos International Airport. While initial projections suggested an November start, recent updates indicate the service is expected to debut on December 15, with operations scheduled to run through mid-February.
The service will consist of three weekly flights operated using Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft. This route provides a strategic link to Western Canada and the Rocky Mountains, offering passengers connections to various South American destinations through WestJet's partnership with Latam.
