WestJet completes fleet-wide cabin and amenity upgrades

WestJet has completed a fleet-wide cabin upgrade for its narrowbody aircraft, following the absorption of ultra-low-cost carriers Swoop and Sunwing. The project unifies the fleet by replacing previous all-economy layouts with a multi-class configuration.

The refreshed interiors now include Premium seating and an expanded Extended Comfort cabin. New passenger amenities feature fast and free Wi-Fi provided by TELUS, modernized charging ports, four-way adjustable headrests, seatback holders for mobile devices, and coat hooks.

Additionally, the airline has restored legroom on certain Boeing 737 aircraft by adjusting seat configurations. Looking ahead, WestJet plans to begin refurbishing its legacy narrowbody fleet in September, with approximately 14 Boeing 737-800 aircraft scheduled for upgrades in 2026 and a full rollout expected by the end of 2027. The company also aims to complete a full exterior livery update to its signature teal-and-navy design by the end of 2026.
