Westlicht Fotomuseum hosts World Press Photo 2026 exhibition

The Westlicht Fotomuseum in Vienna is hosting the ‘World Press Photo 2026’ exhibition, featuring approximately 150 award-winning press photographs. The collection documents global events across six regions, covering themes such as armed conflicts, political shifts, environmental crises, and social change.

Among the featured works is the ‘Photo of the Year’ by four-time Pulitzer Prize winner Carol Guzy. The image depicts the daughters of an Ecuadorian man following his arrest by ICE agents, illustrating the impact of US immigration policies. Additionally, the exhibition highlights Chantal Pinzi’s award-winning project, ‘Farīsāt: Gunpowder’s Daughters,’ which documents women in Morocco reclaiming the traditional male-dominated Tbourida equestrian practice.

To maintain journalistic integrity in an era of increasing AI-generated imagery, the World Press Photo Foundation utilizes a research and forensics team to verify the authenticity of all submitted works.
