Weston McKennie nears Juventus appearance record against Cagliari

Juventus midfielder Weston McKennie is poised to set a personal milestone during the upcoming match against Cagliari at the Unipol Domus. If he plays, the American will reach 234 appearances for the club, surpassing Manuel Locatelli, who currently sits at 233 appearances.

McKennie, who joined Juventus in 2020 and is under contract until 2030, has become a versatile asset for manager Luciano Spalletti. Having played various roles including defensive midfielder, attacking midfielder, and even a false nine, he is noted for his tactical flexibility.

Following the milestone against Cagliari, McKennie’s next statistical target is to surpass former player Edgar Davids, who holds 235 appearances. Other club legends ahead of him in the all-time appearance rankings include Fabio Capello and Wojciech Szczęsny.
