Wests Tigers consider New Zealand venue for home game

The Wests Tigers are exploring the possibility of playing a home game in New Zealand next year while Leichhardt Oval undergoes a $40 million redevelopment. The club is reportedly in discussions with officials in Dunedin regarding a match at Forsyth Barr Stadium.

While the club has not officially commented, sources indicate that interest was initially shown by Christchurch, Hamilton, and Wellington before Dunedin presented a strong proposal. The move would occur while the Tigers navigate venue availability, as the Leichhardt Oval renovations—which include a new northern grandstand and improvements to the western grandstand—are not expected to be completed until the start of the 2028 season.

In the interim, the club plans to host games at Campbelltown and Parramatta’s CommBank Stadium.
