Wests Tigers owners and Perifa clash over Rozelle redevelopment

A dispute between developer Perifa and the Holman Barnes Group, owners of the Wests Tigers, has stalled the long-running redevelopment of the Victoria Road site in Rozelle. The standoff centers on the future of a leagues club within the proposed $285 million mixed-use development.

Inner West mayor Darcy Byrne has indicated that project approval is contingent upon the Wests Tigers operating a club at the site. While the Holman Barnes Group maintains its desire to have a club present, a disagreement persists regarding whether the club will own the facility or act as a tenant. Perifa managing director Fabrizio Perilli has characterized the mayor's concerns as unfounded, though the impasse threatens to extend a saga that has lasted two decades.
