Wests Tigers playmakers Adam Doueihi and Latu Fainu sidelined by injuries
The Wests Tigers face significant roster challenges as star halfback Adam Doueihi is set to undergo season-ending shoulder surgery. Doueihi, who has been managing the injury since returning to play in July, will undergo reconstruction this week to ensure he is prepared for the start of the 2027 season. The surgery also means he will be unavailable for Lebanon during the World Cup.
Compounding the club’s difficulties, Latu Fainu has also been sidelined with a low-grade hamstring injury. Fainu is expected to be out for one to two weeks, leaving the Tigers without key playmakers for their upcoming clash against the Sydney Roosters. The loss of both players may force the club to rely on Jock Madden or 19-year-old Javon Andrews to fill the void in the halves.
