Westyn Lantigua sentenced to 11 years for gang-related attempted murder

Westyn Lantigua, a 25-year-old member of the Trinitarios gang, has been sentenced to 135 months in federal prison for his role in a criminal conspiracy that included an attempted murder in Lynn, Massachusetts.

The sentencing, handed down by U.S. District Judge Nathaniel M. Gorton, follows Lantigua’s guilty plea to RICO conspiracy charges. The incident occurred in June 2022, when Lantigua targeted a vehicle he mistakenly believed belonged to a rival gang. The vehicle was actually occupied by two women with no gang affiliations. Lantigua used an automatic weapon to fire multiple shots at the vehicle, striking it ten times and wounding both women, who survived.

Investigators supported the case with surveillance footage showing Lantigua waiting outside a fast-food restaurant and digital evidence from his cell phone containing photos and videos of him with an automatic pistol. The investigation also uncovered evidence of drug possession intended for distribution and involvement in other criminal conspiracies.
