Wetherspoons submits new plans for Farnham pub
Wetherspoons has submitted new planning applications to Waverley Borough Council for its proposed pub in Farnham, located at the former Slug & Lettuce site on East Street. The updated plans include a 107-square-metre outdoor beer garden and 280 square metres of indoor customer space, featuring a bar, kitchen, and accessible facilities.
The submission seeks amendments to previous plans, specifically regarding window designs and the addition of a pedestrian access ramp to improve mobility. A heritage statement suggests that the proposed modern flat-roofed extension behind the historic three-storey building will not impact the local conservation area.
While the chain has confirmed the venue will “definitely open,” no specific opening date has been provided. The project has faced delays, having previously been expected to open by June. A company spokesperson attributed the delay to a long list of scheduled new openings.
