Patience Rousseau wins $1.6M settlement; Eurojackpot winner in Germany

In Nevada, Patience Rousseau has been awarded a $1.6 million settlement following her wrongful imprisonment. In 2018, Rousseau experienced a stillbirth and was subsequently charged with manslaughter under a 1911 Nevada law that prohibits certain actions to end a pregnancy after 24 weeks. She served over two years in prison before her conviction was overturned in 2021.

Separately, a woman from the Wetterau district in Germany won over 11.5 million euros in the Eurojackpot drawing. She submitted her winning online tip just 15 minutes before the deadline on Friday, October 9. A player in Finland won the same amount. The jackpot was not hit and remains at a maximum of 120 million euros.
