UMF Carol Davila hosts 14th Medical and Pharmacy University Congress in Bucharest

The 14th edition of the Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy (UMFCD) Congress took place from October 22 to 24 at the Palace of the Parliament in Bucharest. The event gathered over 11,000 participants, including hundreds of specialists from Romania and abroad, students, and researchers.

A key highlight of the congress was a roundtable discussion titled “Facilitating dialogue to improve respiratory infection prevention,” organized in partnership with the European Scientific Working Group on Influenza (ESWI). The session focused on the ongoing challenges posed by influenza and other respiratory viruses to European healthcare systems, particularly regarding the risks to the elderly and patients with chronic illnesses.

The congress aimed to bridge the gap between scientific research and public policy, facilitating the exchange of best practices among clinicians, researchers, and decision-makers to improve infection prevention and healthcare responses.
