WEX and Mastercard launch Asia-Pacific fleet payments network
WEX and Mastercard have announced a strategic partnership to launch the first unified fleet payments network in the Asia-Pacific region. Announced in Singapore on October 12, 2026, the initiative aims to consolidate various vehicle-related expenses—including fuel, maintenance, tolling, and parking—into a single payment experience and data infrastructure.
The partnership seeks to address the fragmentation of legacy payment systems that currently force fleet managers to reconcile data from multiple, siloed sources. The new network will provide real-time spending controls, automated insights, and consolidated reporting. Additionally, the system is designed to support mixed-energy fleets, accommodating traditional fuel, hybrid, and electric vehicles under a single account.
The move targets a rapidly growing market. In 2025, fleet-card transaction volumes in Asia-Pacific were estimated at approximately US$310 billion, representing 31 per cent of global volumes. This market is projected to grow at an annual rate of 14.3 per cent through 2030.
