WEY and BYD prepare to launch new SUV models in fourth quarter

Major Chinese automotive manufacturers are preparing to launch new SUV models in the fourth quarter.

Spy images of the new WEY Lanshan have surfaced, revealing an interior that follows the design language of the V8X and V9X models. The vehicle is a luxury box-style SUV available in 5-seat and 6-seat configurations, targeting the 300,000 RMB market segment. It features a large continuous screen and a plug-in hybrid powertrain consisting of a 2.0T engine and electric motors. The 6-seat version measures 5300mm in length, while the 5-seat version is 5140mm long, both sharing a 3010mm wheelbase.

Separately, BYD has unveiled the interior of the third-generation Tang, described as having a design inspired by a ‘spaceship console.’ Positioned as a high-tech flagship SUV, the model features a dual-screen setup including a 35.4-inch integrated far-end star ring screen and a 30-inch panoramic giant screen. The vehicle is equipped with the second-generation Blade Battery, fast-charging technology capable of reaching 70% charge in five minutes, and the ‘God’s Eye B’ intelligent driving assistance system. The third-generation Tang is also expected to launch in the fourth quarter.
