Weymouth and Portland to host major international sporting events

Weymouth and Portland are preparing for a series of major national and international sporting events scheduled through the autumn.

From September 7th to 12th, the Weymouth & Portland National Sailing Academy will host the iQFOiL World Championships. The event is expected to draw up to 250 leading Olympic windsurfers, including double Olympic medallist Emma Wilson.

Following the windsurfing championships, the Ironman 70.3 Weymouth is scheduled to take place on September 20th. Other activities in the region include triathlon, running, and motocross, utilizing the coastline and Portland Harbour as backdrops.
