WFOŚIGW Katowice awards funding to 75 kindergartens

The first edition of the ‘Ekoprzedszkolak 2026’ competition, organized by the Provincial Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management (WFOŚIGW) in Katowice, concluded with a gala on September 8, 2026.

The pilot program received 141 applications, resulting in 75 local government kindergartens being selected for funding. The grants are intended to create green educational spaces, such as mini botanical gardens and arboretums, to allow children to experience environmental science through hands-on learning.

The total value of the support provided during this pilot phase amounted to 3,716,576.87 PLN. Individual grants covered up to 80 percent of eligible costs, with a maximum subsidy of 50,000 PLN per project.
