WFOŚiGW Rzeszow issues alert on staff impersonation scams
The Regional Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management in Rzeszow (WFOŚiGW) has warned that individuals are falsely presenting themselves as its employees to conduct home visits. Only members of the External Control Team may perform such inspections, must carry a written authorization signed by the fund’s president, and are required to notify beneficiaries in advance. The fund advises anyone who doubts a visitor’s legitimacy to request to see the authorization and identity documents, and to immediately call the fund at 17 742 70 14 for verification. WFOŚiGW staff do not make phone calls from restricted numbers, never demand money to expedite funding decisions, and do not display official signage. The organization also confirms it has no partnerships with consulting or construction firms for promotional activities related to its projects. Anyone suspecting fraud or corruption should report the incident to the appropriate authorities and contact the fund using the same phone number.
