WHA Supercup 2026: Hypo Niederösterreich seeks seventh consecutive title

The 2026 WHA Supercup handball tournament will feature significant matchups and historical milestones. In the women’s division, record-holders Hypo Niederösterreich aim to defend their title for the seventh consecutive time. They face hosts MADx WAT Atzgersdorf, who narrowly lost the 2025 title in a penalty shootout. Hypo enters the season with a new coaching staff led by Alla Matuschkowitz and a modified roster, including top scorer Lara Brezenci, who joins from Atzgersdorf.

The men’s division will also see a new champion, as previous winners have not yet established a dynasty. roomz JAGS Vöslau, seeking their first Supercup title, will compete against FÖRTHOF UHK Krems, a cup winner looking to secure their first Supercup victory after three previous final appearances.

For the first time, the event will be hosted by a WHA club at the Hans-Lackner-Halle, featuring a full program of matches and fan activities.
