Whatnot opens European headquarters in Dublin

Live commerce platform Whatnot has officially opened its new European headquarters on Sir Rogerson’s Quay in Dublin. The company, which is headquartered in Los Angeles, currently employs approximately 130 people in Ireland and plans to double its Irish workforce over the next 18 months.

New hiring will focus on engineering, AI, operations, strategy, and trust and safety. The Dublin-based engineering teams are responsible for core platform functions, including payment systems, buying and selling flows, and infrastructure. New AI engineering roles will specifically aim to develop tools that automate administrative tasks for sellers.

Whatnot intends to open its platform to small Irish businesses in 2027, allowing local entrepreneurs to reach a global audience. The company reported that its sellers generated over $8 billion in sales during the first half of 2026.
