WhatsApp and Apple roll out new AI and privacy features

WhatsApp is developing a new privacy feature called ‘Restricted Chat’ for Android, according to code found in its beta version. This function aims to prevent specific conversations from syncing across other devices, such as tablets or computers, ensuring sensitive chats remain exclusively on the primary smartphone.

Separately, Apple has launched Siri AI alongside macOS 27, codenamed Golden Gate. The new assistant includes features such as personal memory search, screen awareness, and writing assistance. Access to the beta version requires joining a waiting list via System Settings. While the software supports various Apple Silicon models, the most advanced AI capabilities require an M3 chip or later and at least 12 GB of RAM.
