WhatsApp becomes essential social infrastructure in Argentina

WhatsApp has become a fundamental piece of social and functional infrastructure in Argentina. According to data from Infobip’s Messaging Trends Report 2026, the application has reached a 99% penetration rate in the country.

Beyond simple messaging, the platform is used to organize family, work, healthcare, finances, and political discourse. Digital messaging traffic in Argentina grew by more than 100% year-on-year during 2025. The report highlights that 66% of users have utilized the platform to access services, while 62% have purchased products through it.

Additionally, WhatsApp now accounts for 91% of all conversational artificial intelligence interactions recorded on the platform in the region.
