WhatsApp blocks accounts using unofficial apps and spam

Meta has stepped up enforcement on its WhatsApp messaging service, suspending accounts that use unofficial modified versions such as WhatsApp Plus, GB WhatsApp, WhatsApp Gold, or other third‑party builds. The platform also targets users who send bulk or spam messages to contacts that are not saved in their address books.

Affected users see a “Cuenta en revisión” or “Account under review” notice, with temporary blocks typically lasting around 24 hours. Repeated or serious violations can lead to permanent bans, resulting in loss of chat history, contacts and associated phone numbers. WhatsApp’s security system combines automated detection with manual review, and Meta advises users to stick to the official app, keep it updated, and avoid mass‑messaging practices to prevent future suspensions.
