WhatsApp enables users to download account information reports

WhatsApp provides a feature that allows users to request and download a detailed report containing their account information. This tool is designed to show what data the platform retains regarding a user's profile and account activity.

The report includes profile data, the associated phone number, linked devices, security and privacy settings, active sessions, the last connection IP address, and the operating system version. It also notes the date when the terms of service were accepted. Notably, the report does not include the content of chats, messages, photos, videos, or other multimedia files.

To request the report, users must navigate to Settings, select Account, and tap ‘Request account info’. The generation process can take up to three days. Once ready, a notification is sent, and the report can be downloaded as a ZIP file containing HTML and JSON documents. This feature is currently available on the mobile application but is not supported on WhatsApp Web or desktop versions for Windows and Mac.
