WhatsApp faces global multimedia service disruption

WhatsApp is experiencing a global service disruption affecting the sharing of multimedia content. While text-based messaging remains functional for many users, reports indicate significant issues when attempting to upload or send photos, videos, stickers, and GIFs.

According to outage-tracking platform Downdetector, users began reporting problems early Monday morning. The disruption has been noted in several countries, including India, the United Kingdom, France, Brazil, Canada, Mexico, Spain, and Colombia.

Users reported that media files often remain stuck during the upload process, display loading icons, or trigger retry prompts. Common troubleshooting steps, such as restarting devices, switching between Wi-Fi and mobile data, or reinstalling the application, have reportedly failed to resolve the multimedia-specific issues for many.
