WhatsApp features allow users to track message statistics and manage storage
WhatsApp users can access hidden features within the app to monitor their messaging activity and manage device storage. According to Meta, users worldwide send approximately 100 billion messages daily via the platform.
To view personal messaging statistics, users can navigate to the ‘Storage and Data’ section under settings. On iOS, this is found by tapping the profile picture, while Android users can access it via the three-dot menu. This menu provides a breakdown of the exact number of messages sent and received, though totals may only reflect data since a device change or OS migration if backups were not restored.
Additionally, the app provides tools to manage storage consumption caused by accumulated photos, videos, and documents. Users can use the ‘Storage and Data’ settings to identify and delete large or unnecessary files to free up space on their smartphones without losing chat history.
