WhatsApp integrates Meta AI for custom backgrounds and stickers

WhatsApp has integrated Meta AI to provide users with new creative tools for messaging and video calls.

Users can now generate personalized backgrounds for video calls by entering text descriptions through the effects menu. This feature allows individuals to replace their physical surroundings with AI-generated environments, such as modern offices or natural landscapes, to enhance privacy or professionalism. The tool can be deactivated at any time to return to the original camera view.

Additionally, the platform has introduced a feature for creating custom sticker packs. By using the Meta AI assistant, users can generate stickers from text prompts or by uploading existing photos. The AI supports various artistic styles, including 3D Pixar style, 8-bit, Pop-Art, and hand-drawn doodles. Generated sticker packs typically contain between three and thirty images, formatted with transparent backgrounds and specific technical dimensions for seamless use in chats.
