WhatsApp introduces new search shortcut for iOS users

WhatsApp has begun rolling out a new search shortcut for iOS users, designed to streamline the process of finding specific messages within chats and channels. Following several weeks of beta testing, the feature is now being integrated into the stable version of the application.

Previously, users had to navigate away from their active conversation by tapping a contact or group name and entering the chat information screen to access the search function. The new update introduces a contextual button that appears at the top of the screen when a user scrolls up through a conversation. Once the user scrolls back to the bottom, the button disappears to save screen space.

This shortcut is applicable to individual chats, group conversations, and channels. By tapping the button, users can immediately activate search mode and enter keywords without leaving the chat window. The rollout is being implemented gradually, meaning some iPhone users may see the update before others.
