WhatsApp introduces pinned message notifications and emoji customization

WhatsApp is rolling out new features for both iOS and Android users to enhance the messaging experience. On iOS, a new notification system for pinned messages has begun appearing in certain updates. When a message is pinned in a chat, a notification containing the “Pinned:” label and the actual content of the message is sent, allowing users to see important information without opening the conversation. This feature applies to both individual and group chats, though it does not trigger notifications for muted conversations.

Additionally, WhatsApp is testing a customization system for reaction emojis. While the platform currently offers a standard set of six emojis, new tests on both Android and iOS suggest that users—specifically WhatsApp Plus subscribers—will soon be able to replace these standard options with their own preferred emojis. This update aims to allow for more personalized expression within the app's reaction interface.
