WhatsApp iPad Beta Receives Liquid Glass Redesign
Meta is testing a major visual overhaul of the WhatsApp iPad client, applying the company’s new “Liquid Glass” design language that debuted on iPhone. The beta, distributed through TestFlight, adds translucent, floating navigation bars, semi‑transparent sidebars and tabs, and fluid animations that adapt to iPadOS multitasking and split‑screen features. The redesign replaces the previous web‑wrapper UI with a native‑look tablet layout, improving screen‑real‑estate usage and reducing visual clutter. In addition to iPad, the same design is being rolled out to macOS and continues to expand across Apple platforms, though no public release date has been announced. These changes are intended to bring the iPad experience in line with Apple’s modern interface standards and to provide a more integrated, “native” feel for WhatsApp users on larger screens.
