WhatsApp rolls out animated iPhone chat bubbles and new disappearing‑message options

WhatsApp is re‑adding a subtle fade‑in animation for incoming messages on iPhone devices. The feature is currently available to a limited group of beta testers via TestFlight and can be turned on or off in Settings → Chats → Animations. The animation had previously been removed from the iOS version.

In addition, WhatsApp expands its disappearing‑message functionality. Users can set messages to disappear after 24 hours, 7 days or up to 90 days, and can also choose automatic deletion after reading (5 minutes, 1 hour or 12 hours). In one‑on‑one chats both participants can enable the setting, while in group chats only administrators can activate it. The changes aim to give users more control over message visibility and reduce clutter.
