WhatsApp rolls out Meta integrations and multi-account features

WhatsApp is rolling out several significant updates to enhance user experience and integration within the Meta ecosystem. One major feature allows users to access and share content—including Stories, posts, and Reels—directly from Instagram and Facebook through the WhatsApp media selector. This integration requires linking accounts via the Meta Accounts Center and enables seamless sharing to chats or Status updates without downloading files first.

Additionally, the platform is expanding multi-account capabilities. Users can now link a single account to multiple devices, including a second smartphone, and iOS beta testers are reportedly testing the ability to manage up to three simultaneous accounts on a single iPhone. These accounts maintain independent chat histories, notifications, and backups.

Customization options are also being revamped. WhatsApp is testing new chat themes categorized into styles such as Nature, Live, Minimal, and Doodle. The update includes animated wallpapers and the ability to use AI-generated backgrounds, providing users with more granular control over the visual appearance of their conversations.
