Wheeling Nailers sign goaltender Philip Svedebäck

The Wheeling Nailers have signed goaltender Philip Svedebäck to a contract for the 2026-27 season. The 24-year-old Swedish native joins the team following a four-year collegiate career at Providence College.

During his time with the Friars, Svedebäck appeared in 113 games, maintaining a save percentage of .908 or better and a goals-against average under 2.50 across his tenure. He contributed to the team winning its second Hockey East regular-season championship and advancing to the NCAA National Tournament.
