The Chinese historical drama ‘Where the Mask Ends’, starring Tian Xiwei and Yan An, has achieved significant viewership milestones on the streaming platform Youku shortly after its October 16, 2026, premiere.

The series reached a popularity score of 9,000 points approximately 26 hours after debuting and surpassed the 10,000-point mark within 48 hours, making it the fastest production of 2026 to reach these levels. The drama has also secured 33 advertising brands, the highest number for a female-led drama on Youku in the last three years.

The plot follows a low-status woman named A Chou who, due to her physical resemblance to a noblewoman named Wei Rao, is used as a substitute bride for Lu Zhuo, the heir to a duke’s mansion. The production is also being distributed weekly on Netflix, expanding its reach to an international audience.
