WHIB member UGeon cast as lead in new romantic comedy

UGeon, a member of the group WHIB, has been cast as the male lead in the upcoming short-form romantic comedy series, ‘My Idol Is a Social Service Worker’. The project marks his first major acting role since his debut as an idol.

The series follows Kang-bin, a top-tier idol who, following a public controversy, is assigned to perform social service duties at a rural community center. There, he encounters Hye-won, a civil servant who was once a devoted fan but has since become a strict supervisor. The story focuses on the comedic and romantic tension arising from their shifting relationship as they navigate workplace friction.

The production is led by director Kim Seok-mok and produced by Showbox and Studio Wow. The drama is expected to premiere in 2026.
