Whidbey Island establishes local Argentine tango community

Aria Peterman has stepped into the role of lead instructor and organizer for Whidbey Tango to ensure the local Argentine tango community remains intact on Whidbey Island. After the group's previous instructor from Bellingham was unable to continue lessons, Peterman took over leadership to provide the necessary guidance to prevent the group from dispersing.

To support the community, Peterman enlisted Greg Constantino, a tango teacher from Seattle, to provide monthly lessons and instruction for Peterman. The organization has since fostered connections with regional tango communities in Seattle and Port Townsend, as well as international networks in Germany and Argentina. Peterman has also hosted intensive weekend workshops featuring instructors met during her travels abroad.
