Italy labor unions and employers negotiate new bargaining pact
Italian trade unions and employers' associations are negotiating a new interconfederate agreement to establish principles for collective bargaining and representation. A seven-page draft document has been prepared to define which organizations are considered 'comparatively more representative' at a national level based on specific criteria.
The agreement aims to regulate negotiating behaviors within the framework of collective bargaining to ensure a 'fair wage' and facilitate access to tax and social security benefits. The parties, including Cgil, Cisl, Uil, and fourteen business associations, intend to finalize the framework agreement by late September.
In a separate industrial development, the Fulchir Group has withdrawn from a proposed agreement regarding personnel transfer to a new company. Labor unions FIM and FIOM have expressed deep concern over this setback, citing financial difficulties and debts to suppliers. The unions are calling for immediate extraordinary administration to protect production continuity and employment.
