Whirlpool faces dividend suspension and earnings scrutiny

Whirlpool has suspended its common dividend as of the first quarter of 2026 to prioritize deleveraging. The appliance manufacturer previously reduced its quarterly payout from $1.75 to $0.90 per share before the total suspension. This move follows a period of financial pressure, including a 61.19% decline in share price over the past year.

In its most recent quarter, Whirlpool reported revenues of $3.52 billion, a 6.8% year-on-year decrease, missing analyst expectations. For the upcoming earnings report, the market anticipates a 3.1% year-on-year revenue decline. The company's recent performance has been characterized by mixed results, including full-year EPS guidance that exceeded expectations despite missing specific EPS estimates in previous quarters.
