Whisky industry updates: Jackton Distillery and Johnnie Walker launch new products

Jackton Distillery has announced the launch of its RAER Single Malt Scotch Whisky, marking the return of locally distilled single malt to South Lanarkshire after a hiatus of more than 180 years. The family-run distillery, located on the Kean farm near Glasgow, first filled its casks in February 2020. The inaugural release is drawn from Bourbon, Pedro Ximénez, Amontillado, and Oloroso sherry casks, bottled at 48.7% ABV. A limited run of 6,000 hand-numbered bottles is scheduled to ship on September 4, 2026.

In the ready-to-drink sector, Johnnie Walker has launched Johnnie & Lemonade in South Africa. The product consists of blended Scotch whisky mixed with lemonade in a 300ml can, targeting urban consumers looking for portable convenience. The brand is debuting the product through a live experience at Toadbury Hall on September 5.
