Whistleblower alleges DOJ taskforce politicizes campus antisemitism probes

A whistleblower and a high-ranking Democratic politician have raised allegations that a government taskforce investigating antisemitism on university campuses is being used for politically motivated purposes.

Haley Van Erem, a former employee of the United States Department of Justice’s civil rights division, accused the taskforce of conducting “politically motivated investigations unsupported by facts and contrary to law.” The taskforce, led by Leo Terrell, was established during the second Trump administration to address alleged antisemitism at American universities.

Jamie Raskin, a leading Democratic member of the House Judiciary Committee, also claimed that the legal ministry has contrived and politicized accusations of antisemitism to pressure universities and their staff.
