White Hart pub in Newton Abbot celebrates £250,000 refurbishment
The White Hart pub in Newton Abbot is set to host a grand reopening on Friday, September 11, following a refurbishment costing more than £250,000. The investment was led by Punch Pubs & Co as part of its Unity Social business unit, which focuses on developing community-centric venues.
Landlady Kate Atkinson, who took over the establishment last November, aims to transform the pub into a local community hub. The renovation includes a refreshed main bar, improved social seating, upgraded AV systems, enhanced outdoor drinking areas, and a dedicated zone for darts and pool.
The launch event will feature a ribbon-cutting ceremony by the Mayor, a local netball team attempting a record in the pub garden, and a drag karaoke performance. The day’s activities will also focus on raising awareness for Breast Cancer UK.
