White House addresses Trump health speculation regarding skin marks and bruising

The White House has addressed recent public speculation regarding President Donald Trump’s health following the appearance of visible marks on his neck and hand.

Regarding redness and crusting observed near his ear and hairline during a March 2 ceremony, presidential physician Sean Barbabella stated the marks are a result of using a common prescribed cream as a preventive skin treatment. The doctor noted the redness might remain visible for several weeks. While a previous medical report from April 2025 mentioned the use of mometasone for an unspecified skin condition, the White House has not specified the exact cream currently in use.

Additionally, recent photographs showing a bruise on the President’s right hand have prompted social media discussion. Trump has previously addressed similar bruising, telling reporters he struck his hand against a table and applied cream to the area. He also noted that he takes high-dose daily aspirin for heart health, which can increase the visibility of bruising.
