White House ballroom project defended as national security bunker

The Trump administration is defending the construction of a new White House ballroom as a matter of national security. While described as a venue for state events, court documents suggest the project includes a massive subterranean military complex located five stories beneath the White House grounds. This underground installation is reportedly designed to include bomb shelters, a hospital, top-secret military equipment, sniper nests, and a drone port.

White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller has invoked ‘continuity-of-government interests’ to justify the project, arguing the reinforced installation is necessary to ensure uninterrupted presidential command during a global crisis or attack.

In response to the project, Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner has made controversial remarks regarding the structure. Krasner stated that he wants the ballroom ‘blown up’ during an ‘official ceremony,’ suggesting that pieces of the rubble could be kept as paperweights.
